LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
OUR PURPOSE
We acknowledge that C.A.R.E.'s activities take place throughout the traditional territories of the many diverse Indigenous Peoples of this country. We recognize the land and the benefits it provides all of us. We are grateful to those on whose territory we live, work and visit. We pay respect to the Ancestors, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Truth Tellers past and present, and the young people who continue to inspire us.
Canadian Artists for Reconciliation & Education (C.A.R.E.) is a non-profit society registered in B.C. that came together after the revelation of unmarked graves at Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc in May of 2021.Our purpose is to hold safe spaces for Indigenous People to share their stories while educating the public in all matters of the truth regarding the injustices against the Indigenous Peoples of Canada.
C.A.R.E. was created to educate its members and the general public in all matters of the truth regarding Indigenous and Settler history while nurturing acts of reconciliation.

UPCOMING CIRCLE

We host a Circle Talk most months featuring a variety of different Indigenous guests from across Canada.
Each guest shares their stories of resilience while shedding light on the truth about the injustices inflicted upon Indigenous Peoples of Canada while helping us build the path towards reconciliation.
What does a Circle Talk look like? Each talk is:
done in a circle; holds space for one speaker at a time; provides opportunity for everyone to participate as much or little as they feel comfortable; gives time for each person to fully share; confidentiality of the circle is respected; respects each individual as having an important contribution to make. The Zoom room for each circle 5 minutes before the start time.
