Friends & Allies

Paddles come in all kinds of shapes, sizes, and colours, and so do friends & allies. Together we can accomplish more than we can alone. Together we can create safer spaces for truth telling and the journey of reconciliation. Together we can make a difference. The concept of friends & allies is an intentional shift away from colonial understandings of sponsorship and patronage and a move towards relationship and partnership. Friends & Allies are people, groups, and organizations that want to support the difference we're making in people's lives, yet are more than a supporter, more than a sponsor, and more than a donor. They are part of the journey, they help make it happen, they are committed to the value of safe spaces for truth telling and reconciliation, cheers each other on, and stand with each other when the truth is hard and teaching tough to hear.
